The caller, who happened to be a Children and Youth Services worker, reported that she saw a person parked at the pumps injecting something into her arm with a syringe.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found the daughter, Courtney Jording, injecting her mother, Karen Gillespie, with heroin while Gillespie was in the driver’s seat.

Police seized 41 stamp bags of heroin, 16 empty stamp bags of heroin, 4 syringes and 2 spoons from the vehicle.

Police said the 6-month-old child was in wet diapers with no fresh diapers available. The car seat was also not secured.

Gillespie and Jording face charges of criminal conspiracy, endangering the welfare of children, criminal use of a communication facility, possession, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Gillespie faces additional charges of possession with intent to manufacture or deliver.

The Westmoreland County Children’s Bureau is investigating endangerment of the child.

Gillespie and Jording are being held in Westmoreland County Prison on $10,000 bond.

This is the third heroin arrest in the past week by Greensburg police officers in which a quantity of heroin was seized.
