A mother and her boyfriend were in the Hall County Jail on Tuesday accused of killing the woman's 18-month-old daughter.
An autopsy found the child died of blunt force trauma. The child's name was not released.
Deanna Kipp of Gainesville, 24, mother of the child, and her boyfriend, Stephen Clark West of Gainesville, 22, both have been charged with one count of felony murder and one count of aggravated assault.
Police found the child unresponsive after being called to the Riverside Condominiums at 1235 Riverside Drive on Sunday. The child was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
Kipp and West were charged after results of the autopsy were disclosed Monday.
Gainesville Police said the investigation was ongoing.
