A Mexican walk-up counter in a grocery store failed a recent health inspection, with officials noting the person in charge failed to “demonstrate active managerial control.”

Cocina Sofia, inside the Super Mercado Jalisco location in Roswell, scored a 65/U following the Friday afternoon evaluation; 69 and below is considered failing.

The previous score, from Jan. 19, was a 65.

According to the report, there were containers of food stored on the floor.

Officials also reported uncooked eggs stored above ready-to-eat beef soup, and raw beef stored above ready-to-eat food.

A woman who answered the phone at Cocina Sofia Wednesday morning said the general manager was not immediately available for comment.

Follow-up inspections are generally completed within 10 days of the original evaluation.
