If you've never seen school district employees hip hopping to dance music, now's your chance. A team of broadcast production students in Cobb County got scores of grownups to goof for the camera -- strutting and lip synching in homemade costumes -- for a music video welcoming new superintendent Michael Hinojosa to the district.
The video, set to the foot-tapping tune "Dynamite" by British artist Taio Cruz, was choreographed and produced by students from Harrison High School. "It's a fun way to introduce Dr. Hinojosa to school staff and get everyone into the back-to-school spirit," school district spokesman Doug Goodwin said.
It was shot in two hours last month, and the only cost for the district was the $100 to rent the video equipment, Goodwin said. TY TAGAMI

WellStar Health System will pay for concussion testing for approximately 1,000 student athletes at North Paulding and Hiram High Schools. WellStar announced a similar partnership in May with Cobb County schools. Student athletes participating in all sports, including cheerleading, are eligible. The athletes are offered a baseline test that can be used for comparison purposes if there is an injury. If a baseline was not obtained, national baseline standards can be used to assess an injured student. The concussion tests, administered by an athletic trainer at each school, will be done through a computerized program that measures multiple aspects of the athlete’s cognitive functioning, including attention span, working memory, sustained and selective attention time and reaction time.
