The federal appeals court in Atlanta on Wednesday named the three judges who will preside over the June 8 arguments and decide a challenge raised by Georgia and 25 other states to the federal health care law.
Chief Judge Joel Dubina of Montgomery, appointed in 1990 by President George H.W. Bush, will be joined by Judges Frank Hull of Atlanta and Stanley Marcus of Miami -- both appointed by President Bill Clinton in 1997. They will hear the Obama Administration's appeal of a Florida judge's ruling that struck down the law in its entirety. BILL RANKIN

A Winder man discovered a surprising relic buried in his yard on Tuesday -- a bomb from World War I.
A resident of a home on Creekwood Road was working in his yard when he found the contraption at 3:32 p.m. and called police to report a suspicious device. The round metal cylinder had four fins attached to it, according to a press release issued by Sgt. Ryan Sears of the Barrow County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies evacuated the area as a precaution and called in a bomb disposal unit from the nearby University of Georgia Police Department.
The bomb technicians determined it was a military device. They then turned the scene over to a U.S. Air Force Explosive Ordinance Device Unit from Dobbins Air Force Base. The military personnel transported the bomb to the Barrow County Sheriff's Office's shooting range and detonated it.
It was unclear Tuesday how the bomb came to be buried in the yard. ANDRIA SIMMONS

Governing magazine has named Georgia Speaker David Ralston, R-Blue Ridge, one of its top GOP lawmakers to watch.
The article, by veteran political reporter Louis Jacobson, says Ralston "has earned favorable reviews for his effectiveness with fellow lawmakers."
Jacobson said the publication sought politicians with ambition and "a long future, particularly with the possibility of winning higher office at the state or federal level."
