Your commute home may have taken a little longer Thursday evening.

An unauthorized person on the tracks forced MARTA to turn off the electricity between the Arts Center and Lindbergh stations, according to a spokeswoman.

The incident occurred just after 5 p.m.

Police safely removed the individual from the track, Cara Hodgson with MARTA said.

When power was restored, the southbound track returned to normal operations, Hodgson said. But there were problems on the northbound tracks, forcing trains to be “single-tracked” between the two stations, she said.

Crews had the problem fixed shortly before 7 p.m.
