All MARTA Breeze card functions were restored Wednesday evening after an glitch made it impossible for customers to use credit or debit cards at vending machines and also affected users of the transit agency's website.

Earlier, MARTA alerted customers that due to technical problems, they would be able to use only cash to purchase fares at vending machines. The problem also affected credit and debit card purchases at its Ridestores.

The Breeze technical problems also extend to the company’s website or automated phone system, which wasn’t allowing customers to check balances, a spokeswoman said in a release.

MARTA announced that all Breeze functions had been restored shortly after 7:30 p.m.
