The Marietta Parks, Recreation and Tourism Committee on Wednesday will discuss establishing guidelines on naming new parks and recreation facilities.

Committee Chairman Johnny Sinclair said the policy is needed because the city plans to build new parks using $25 million in bond money approved in a November referendum.

Six city committees will meet consecutively Wednesday on the fourth floor of city hall, starting at 5:15 p.m. The parks committee will be the third meeting of the day. After all committees have met, the city council will hold a work session. The only item on the agenda is an executive session.
