Part of a southwest Atlanta road is closed due to sewer work.

Crews will install a manhole on Selig Drive SW between Indeco Boulevard SW and Bakers Ferry Road SW, resulting in a week-long 24-hour road closure from April 4 to April 11. The work hours will be 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The suggested detour is to go from Selig Drive SW onto Bakers Ferry Road SW, then to Fulton Industrial Boulevard SW.

Traffic control measures will be in place to guide motorists around the work zone. Drivers are asked to avoid the area if possible.

CDC Finds 'Nightmare Bacteria' Across the U.S. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) published a report on Tuesday claiming 221 antibiotic-resistant germ strains have been found nationwide. Dr. Anne Schuchat, CDC principal deputy director, via Time The Vital Signs journal reported that one in four samples of the germs sent to the CDC had genes that allowed those bugs to spread their resistances to other bugs. Schuchat added that some bigs have been contained once they've been found rapidly.
