Police said that Gampel met a woman from Roswell on a dating site last year and then met with her in person at a restaurant in the city. During the dinner, Gampel slipped a date-rape drug into the woman’s drink, police said.

Police said Gampel and the woman took a taxi back to his home where he sexually assaulted her. The drug was found in the woman’s system when she went to the hospital after the incident.

Roswell police would not give any identifying information on the victim, such as her age. The incident occurred in May 2017.

Gampel was last seen driving a white Ford Ranger with a PTN8032 Georgia tag number.

He has a tattoo on his right shoulder that police described as a “Celtic-type cross.”

Police said Gampel has been arrested before, but not for a serious crime like rape.

Anyone with information about Gampel should call Crime Stoppers at 404 577-8477. All callers can remain anonymous.
