An Atlanta man was hospitalized Tuesday after being shot during an overnight robbery attempt.

According to police dispatchers, the 22-year-old victim was shot about 2:30 a.m. inside a home on Lansing Street in southeast Atlanta.

Atlanta police Det. David Coleman told WSB-TV that the victim was lying in bed when he was shot once through an open bedroom window.

Coleman said witnesses heard someone say, “give it up,” just before the shooting.

The victim, whose name has not been released, was in surgery early Tuesday at Grady Memorial Hospital.
