Atlanta police are investigating the shooting death of man Friday night in southwest Atlanta.

Police spokesman John Chafee told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that officers responding to an 8:15 p.m. call about a person shot in the 1100 block of Ira Street found a man dead on the sidewalk from multiple gunshot wounds.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner identified the victim as Dontacus Rosser, 32, of Atlanta.

A motive for the shooting has not been released.
