Atlanta police arrested a man Friday for allegedly running a chop shop.

Authorities were tipped off around 2:15 p.m. about possible illegal activity in the 500 block of Cairo Street in northwest Atlanta. Police said they found Michael Stroud Jr. and several vehicles that appeared to have been cut into pieces.

Investigators, armed with a search warrant, said they found two Chevrolet Tahoe SUVs that had been reported stolen and an engine from a stolen vehicle.

Stroud was taken to the Fulton County Jail and charged with operating a chop shop, two counts of theft by receiving stolen auto and theft by receiving stolen auto parts.
