The Southeastern Liturgical Music Symposium will be held Aug. 19 and Aug. 20 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Atlanta.
The symposium will focus on the opportunities and challenges faced by liturgical musicians as the new translations of the Roman Missal begins later this year.
Two new features have been added -- a concert of sacred music and a roundtable discussion comprised of all the event's presenters.
The Atlanta Archdiocesan Festival Choir will perform at the opening concert. The Rev. Douglas Martis, director of the Liturgical Institute will and chairman of the worship department at Mundelein Seminary of the Archdiocese of Chicago, will be the keynote speaker.
