The Lilburn City Council recently voted to approve a revised Intergovernmental Agreement between the city and the Lilburn Community Improvement District related to the responsibilities and funding for the Highway 29 multi-use path project.

In 2013, Lilburn entered into an agreement with the Lilburn CID to install a multi-use path adjacent to the south side of U.S. Highway 29 between Postal Way and Killian Hill Road. The entire project is expected to cost $938,000. The Georgia Department of Transportation has awarded a TE Grant in the amount of $700,000, or 80 percent of the total construction cost. The city is responsible for up to $238,000 of the remaining expense.

A revised agreement was necessary to extend the effective date of the original agreement. The new agreement extends the contract for two years.
