Weekend overnight lane closures have been announced as crews continue to repave Ga. 9 – better known as West Peachtree Street, Peachtree Road and Roswell Road – from Midtown Atlanta to I-285 in Sandy Springs.

Weather permitting, alternating right and left lanes will be closed in various locations from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Friday and Sunday, the Georgia Department of Transportation announced.

“Work crews will be raising the manholes along the newly paved roadway,” GDOT said. “Residents in the area should expect some noise related to the work.”

Ga. 9 is getting new milling, inlay, patching and resurfacing and restriping from Northside Drive in Atlanta to Lake Placid Drive in Sandy Springs. GDOT advised motorists to expect delays, used signed detours, exercise caution and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones.
