Lake Lanier victim was from Cobb County

The man whose body was found floating in Lake Lanier on Thursday was from Cobb County, authorities said.
Investigators think Richard Linton Beacham, 65, drowned after he accidentally fell off the dock next to his boat, Hall County sheriff’s spokesman Stephen Wilbanks said Friday. The incident happened at Gainesville Marina.
The case remains open. Beacham’s body has been taken to the DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy.
