The driver of an SUV was killed Tuesday afternoon in Hall County after losing control of the vehicle, crossing into oncoming traffic and being hit by a cement truck, the Georgia State Patrol said.

Margaret Johns, 72, of Alto, was killed in the crash about 12:45 p.m. on Ga. 365, Sgt. A.J. Allen said in a statement.

The 2004 GMC Envoy was heading south and the cement truck, driven by 27-year-old Adam Hunter of Cornelia, was northbound, Allen said.

After losing control, the SUV rotated counterclockwise as it went into the median, Allen said. The SUV then went into the northbound lanes, and the truck hit the SUV on the right side, according to the GSP.

Hunter was not injured, Allen said.
