Now authorized volunteers are allowed to serve alcoholic beverages in Kennesaw at temporary city-sponsored or nonprofit fundraising events.

The Kennesaw City Council recently voted 5-0 to make this change for these events for which an alcoholic beverage license has been issued.

Volunteers may serve alcohol if they are approved as substitute licensees by the city’s business license division.

Kennesaw’s Economic Development Director Robert Fox recommended the change “to increase efficiency” at these events by using volunteers.
