The Kennesaw City Council agreed Tuesday to enter into incentives commitment agreements with two companies.

Over a five-year period, the city will support the training and development of new jobs for Deerland Enzymes, Inc.

This business designs, develops and manufactures custom enzymes and probiotics.

The company is developing a major expansion to their operations to separate probiotics production from enzyme production in a separate 30,000-square-foot building.

Involving an $8.3 million capital investment, the project will create more than 40 jobs in the first three years.

Dry County Brewing Company is a start-up business that would receive limited financial assistance from the city for the first few years while seeking federal, state and local permits and licenses.

This business would have to meet performance metrics each year to protect the city’s investment.

Dry County Brewing will be a micro-brewery of craft beers with possible location in the Cobb International Industrial Park in Kennesaw.
