Driver killed in single-car wreck on busy DeKalb highway

A 34-year-old man was killed Tuesday night when his car ran off an exit ramp on a busy DeKalb County highway, police said.
Officers were called to the single-vehicle crash on the U.S. 78 East ramp to Brockett Road just after 11 p.m. They found the car wrecked into several trees, DeKalb police told AJC.com.
The driver, identified by police as Victor Rodriguez, was dead at the scene.
The investigation shut down the ramp for several hours overnight, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.

It is not clear why Rodriguez’s car ran off the ramp.
