Peachtree City’s annual July 4 parade and fireworks events have been rescheduled for Labor Day weekend, according to an announcement Monday by Mayor Vanessa Fleisch.

She said the “very difficult decision” was made because of ongoing public safety precautions related to COVID-19. Details about the rescheduled events will be announced later. For the same reason, another annual city event, the World War II Heritage Days originally scheduled for May 2-3, will now be held on Sept. 12-13 at the Atlanta Regional Airport - Falcon Field. Sponsored by the Dixie Wing of the Commemorative Air Force, this year’s event will mark the 75th anniversary of the end of the war.

Tickets for the May dates will be honored in September unless ticketholders request a refund. More information is at https://wwiidays.org.
