Johns Creek is accepting applications for its Recreation & Parks Advisory Committee.

The committee advises the City Council on matters of policy regarding city-owned parks and recreation programs, and provides direction on the city's Recreation & Parks Strategic Plan and parks bond program, according to a city announcement. The panel has 15 members and meets at 6:30 p.m. the third Wednesday of the month.

A self-nominating process opened Sept. 24 and will close at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24. The City Council will review applications and make recommendations to the mayor, who will nominate appointees for council ratification. The process takes 60 to 90 days.
