The Johns Creek City Council has approved an intergovernmental agreement with the Fulton County School District to give the city’s first responders access to live streaming videos from the schools in emergencies.
Fulton schools have fixed video surveillance cameras, but the city has had no access to the system, according to a staff memo to the council.
“To increase preparedness for emergencies, Fulton County Schools and the Police Department want to establish a method by which the parties could share video from the cameras inside the district to increase real-time awareness in emergency situations,” staff said.
Johns Creek intends to give ChatComm – the Chattahoochee River 911 Authority, which answers and dispatches 911 calls and emergency response in the city – access to the video feeds as an authorized user in an emergency.
