The Johns Creek City Council has approved contracts totaling more than $550,000 to install traffic signals at two intersections and a turn lane at a third on Old Alabama Road.

The council awarded a $423,875 contract to R.J. Haynie & Associates to install new traffic signals on Old Alabama at Spruill Road and Autry Falls Way.

“Following the completion of contract documents, bond requirements, and other contractual issues, poles will be ordered and site construction is anticipated to begin in mid-May, 2020,” staff said in a report to the council. Weather permitting, “the target completion for new signals is November, 2020.”

The council also awarded a $127,702 contract to Summit Construction & Development to install a new left-turn lane from Old Alabama to Foxworth Drive. The four-month project is expected to begin in mid-February and, weather permitting, be completed in May, staff said.
