The Johns Creek City Council has awarded a $1.73 million construction contract to CMES Inc. to make intersection improvements at Bell and McGinnis Ferry roads.
The council also awarded a $90,000 construction engineering and inspection contract for the project to BM&K. Plans call for extending the northbound right-turn lane on Bell and adding through lanes through the intersection on McGinnis Ferry, staff said in an agenda report.
The project is one of five operational and safety improvement projects proposed for the Bell/Boles corridor, to be funded by the Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax approved by voters in November 2016.
