Gov. Nathan Deal on Monday swore in investigator Richard Hyde to be a new member of the state Judicial Qualifications Commission.

Since he began working for the JQC in 2007, Hyde has overseen investigations that led to the resignations of more than 30 judges. In January, Deal appointed Hyde to become one of the JQC’s seven members. A former Atlanta street cop, Hyde also was one of the three special investigators who uncovered widespread test-cheating in the Atlanta Public Schools.
