Several brush fires broke out across metro Atlanta on Tuesday, and forecasters are warning that conditions will be ripe on Wednesday for more of those fires.

The National Weather Service has issued a "red flag" warning for critical fire conditions across north and central Georgia from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The Weather Service said low humidity will combine with winds gusting to 25 mph to cause those dangerous conditions.

The Weather Service has also posted a frost advisory Wednesday night for the Atlanta suburbs, where temperatures are expected to drop into the mid-30s. A freeze warning for temperatures in the low 30s is in effect for the northeast corner of the state.

Temperatures early Wednesday were in the mid-30s in the mountains, and ranged from the mid-40s to low 50s across metro Atlanta.

Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton's forecast calls for sunny skies through Thursday, with highs in the mid-60s and lows Wednesday night around 40 degrees inside the Perimeter.

Friday will be sunny and milder, Minton said, with highs climbing back into the low 70s.

The dry weather should continue through the weekend, with temperatures warming into the upper 70s by Sunday. Weekend lows will be in the 50s, Minton said.
