There are fewer job openings for police and fire in Henry County because staffing has increased noticeably in the past month, according to a report given at the Jan. 7 regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners.
In addition to pointing out the new police equipment recently purchased after getting board approval, deputy county manager Brad Johnson noted the addition of six new police recruits sworn in since mid-December and the most recent fire academy class which graduated 16 new firefighter/EMTs. Johnson also stated that the county’s in-house fire academy has seen consecutive rounds of 100 percent pass rates on national testing.
