With schools currently closed due to COVID-19 health concerns, Henry County CTAE (career, technical, and agricultural education) leaders answered a call from state officials to provide local medical facilities with needed supplies to treat patients safely.

Teachers went to their schools and emptied their medical supply closets, according to district officials and were able to provide Piedmont Henry Hospital with such items as N95 masks, isolation gowns, bouffant caps, shoe covers, surgical gloves, and regular gloves.

The hospital typically provide the school district’s healthcare science programs with unique learning opportunities like job shadowing and paid internships, and this special opportunity to give back was lauded by district leaders and hospital officials alike.
