The Henry County Board of Commissioners approved a commercial rezoning Jan. 16 for 24 acres on Jonesboro Road, a short distance east of I-75 across from the from the end of Mt. Carmel Road.

The site plan calls for one large parcels and eight outparcels forming a commercial business office complex. The Zoning Advisory Board recommended denial of C-3 and approval of C-2 with conditions. After that ruling, the developers notified county staff that they wanted to construct a hotel on the site, so staff recommended C-3 approval only if a hotel is built there.

The commissioners approved the request according to those recommendations.
