Henry County’s public safety personnel got another boost in their equipment support when the Board of Commissioners voted at its Jan. 7 regular meeting to approve the purchase of emergency response packages for vehicles.

The commissioners voted last September to buy seven 2020 Chevrolet Tahoe 4WD special support vehicles for the fire department, ten 2020 Ford Explorer pursuit utility vehicles for the police department’s Criminal Investigations Division, and 40 2020 Ford Explorer pursuit utility vehicles for the Uniform Patrol Division. The packages purchased this month include the installment of lights, radios, mounted bumpers and grills along with other support equipment at a total cost of $524,914.16.

Capital funds will be used to make these purchases.
