The motorcyclist collided with a Honda Pilot from behind on Dickens Road in Lilburn on March 31 and was thrown from his bike, according to police. The car fled the scene, but police were able to determine it was a recent model Honda Pilot with damage to its tail light and back end.

Police received a tip that led them to Hernandez on April 13. Hernandez’s car matched the initial description and damage pattern, according to a department release.

Hernandez was booked into the Gwinnett County Detention Center on April 16 and bonded out on a $66,400 bail.
