The Gwinnett County Police Department, in partnership with the Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office, Gwinnett County Solicitor’s Office, Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office, and local community leaders have created informational videos regarding the unlicensed practice of law.

In a recent press release, Gwinnett officials stated, “This is a scam that often targets people in the immigrant community who may need legal services and are deceived by individuals who claim to be legal experts but who are not actually licensed to practice law. These scams can be financially devastating to their victims who not only lose their money but who are still left to deal with the original legal issue they were seeking help with.”

The videos aim to increase awareness of the problem, let people know how to report these scams, and help individuals find a licensed attorney. The videos are available in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, and Cantonese Chinese: www.tinyurl.com/UnlicensedLegal.
