Gwinnett County commissioners have approved four transportation projects that will cost about $2.6 million combined.

The most expensive project will add improvements to the intersection of Suwanee Dam Road and Riverside Road in Sugar Hill.

The project, costing $1,846,605.50, will realign the intersection and add a traffic signal and left turn lanes to the intersection, and sidewalks, curbs and gutters along Suwanee Dam Road, according to a county release. 2014 SPLOST revenue will fund 67.3 percent of the project, with the remainder covered by the city of Sugar Hill.

The county also amended an agreement with the Gateway 85 Community Improvement District to add more street lighting in Norcross along Jimmy Carter Boulevard from Live Oak Parkway to Brook Hollow Parkway. That project will cost $93,582.

Commissioners also approved an agreement with Gateway 85 CID to add an updated traffic signal and landscaping to the intersection of Jimmy Carter Boulevard and Rockbridge Road. That project will be funded exclusively by Gateway 85 CID, and county money will not be used.

The county also announced a $729,417 project to install a roundabout at the intersection of North Road and Pharrs Road in Snellville.

Start dates for these projects have not been announced.
