UPDATE: Joe's to Goes scored a 100/A on its follow-up inspection, which was completed June 30.

ORIGINAL STORY: A popular Gwinnett restaurant failed its recent health inspection, with officials noting "black debris" in the soda and ice machines.

Joe's to Goes, located at 605 Indian Trail-Lilburn Road in Lilburn, received a 67/U on its Monday inspection.

In addition to the black build-up, inspectors noted "cooked barbecue pork was held past its discard date." A gallon of buttermilk was also "stored past its use by date."

According to the report, there was also "rewrapped raw steak stored over an open box of cookies" and "an open box of uncooked Philly cheesesteak meat" stored over an open bag of tortillas.

Reached Tuesday, owner Kenny Reid said, "the restaurant is under new management and ownership and we're in the process" of addressing the violations listed in the inspection report. He declined to comment further.

The restaurant's Facebook page describes it as "Joe's Bar & Grill" but links to the website for Joe's to Goes, which also has a location on Highpoint Road in Snellville. The inspection report refers to the restaurant only as Joe's to Goes.

Follow-up evaluations are typically held within 10 days of failing inspections.
