Gwinnett Commissioners recently accepted a $31,225 EMS Trauma Related Equipment Grant from the Georgia Trauma Commission. The grant can be used for the reimbursement of any trauma related equipment.
The county will use the funding to reimburse for the purchase of EZIO needles and EZIO tools, equipment used in emergency situations to supply medications directly into bone.
The grant is 100 percent funded by the Georgia Trauma Commission with no matching requirements from the county.
The Georgia Trauma Commission has dispersed a total of $1,123,977 grant awards this year for trauma related equipment to equip ambulances.
