The Gwinnett County Public Library will deliver books and other materials to homebound cardholders for free through a new program.

The Mailbox Books service brings library items to anyone with a library card who can’t come to a branch due to age, physical disability, chronic illness, visual impairment or another condition that restricts them to their home. Currently, only Gwinnett County residents can get library materials through Mailbox Books.

In addition to hardcovers and paperbacks, Mailbox Books participants can get DVDs and CD audiobooks through the program. The library will keep a record of what it sends participants in order to prevent items from being lost.

You must apply online to participate in the program. If you don't have a library card yet, you can also start the process of acquiring one through the Mailbox Books application.
