Gwinnett firefighters raise money for burn programs

June 10, 2011

The Gwinnett County Department of Fire and Emergency Services recently raised $52,159 to support the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation.

The department raised the money from Gwinnett residents through its annual “Give Burns the Boot” drive. The foundation supports burn centers, burn camps and burn prevention programs throughout Georgia. Ten percent of the money raised will be returned to Gwinnett for smoke alarms and community fire safety education materials.
