Man accused of hitting, locking friend’s child out of house
On March 3, Gwinnett County police issued arrest warrants charging a 43-year-old Duluth man with first-degree cruelty to children. According to the warrants, the man was “upset” the child of a friend was at his home and “grabbed the child’s arm, twisting it and shoved him in the stomach.”
“The accused then shoved the child out of the front door, and locked him out. The accused refused to let the child back inside of the home.”
The child’s age was not released.
‘Discarding’ a gun in the presence of children
On April 6, Gwinnett County police charged a 17-year-old male from Lawrenceville with reckless conduct, obstruction and various weapons offenses. Warrants accuse the juvenile of “fleeing from an officer, drawing a loaded firearm and then discarding said gun in the immediate presence of children.”
The incident happened on Cannonball Court – the same street where a 6-year-old boy was shot in the chest last month.
Furniture burglary
On April 6, Norcross police issued arrest warrants charging a 26-year-old woman with burglary and theft by taking. Authorities believe she took a full-size bed, two twin-size beds and a 39-inch TV after breaking into a home on Rails Way.
A whole lot of Abercrombie
On April 6, Gwinnett County police issued warrants accusing a 28-year-old California man of shoplifting more than $1,600 worth of merchandise from the Abercrombie & Fitch store at the Mall of Georgia. He was charged with one count of felony theft by shoplifting.
The crime allegedly took place in February.
