Food rescue seeks volunteers
Volunteers with Second Helpings Atlanta rescue food from a network of food donors, transport it to partner agencies and return home in 90 minutes or less. Many food pickups and deliveries (routes) occur in the early morning during the week. However, new routes are continually added, many of which occur on Saturdays and Sundays.
Volunteers typically pick up and deliver food once a month. Second Helpings Atlanta also needs volunteers for event planning, accounting, grant writing, law, fundraising, social media, PR, etc.

Help needed with refugee registration
LSG Refugee Services has a goal of helping refugees transform their lives by bringing families together, keeping families together and helping those in need build new lives in their new home. The nonprofit continues to have record numbers of refugee arrivals. In July, LSG welcomed 127 refugees and already 61 people are scheduled for August arrivals.
Volunteers are needed to assist on Wednesday mornings at the clothing closet to sort clothes and to help regular clothing closet volunteers with other tasks such as welcoming new families.
Vetted LSG volunteers are also needed to help transport clients to appointments Tuesday through Friday.
