Atlanta History Center seeks youth ambassadors
The Youth Ambassador Program is a unique “education through service” program designed to attract a dynamic service-oriented group of young people who have an interest not only in helping the Atlanta History Center, but also engaging their community. Youth Ambassadors will gain experience in historic houses, administration, guest services, curation, public history programs, and much more.
The program is open to 9th to 12th grade students (age 15 – 19). Students will need to commit to one school year of service and to a minimum of 50 volunteer hours.

Children’s Restoration Network needs adult mentors
Help homeless youth around Atlanta by taking part in many year-round programs and initiatives such as
Project One on One. It began in 1996 as a way to connect Atlanta’s homeless children with adult mentors who are willing to help and encourage them to reach their academic goals. We currently have tutors placed at 22 different shelters, group homes, and low income communities throughout the Metro-Atlanta area.
Tutors spend an hour and a half each week assisting a child or small group of children with their homework assignments, projects, or improving basic academic skills. CRN provides an academic handbook with tools to use when working on general academic skills, but we encourage mentors to find creative and fun ways to engage in the learning process!
Tutoring sessions are held in the group homes/shelters where the children live, or in an after school program in their community. Dates and times for tutoring sessions vary based on location, and can be found on the second page of the site map (link found below). We ask that all volunteers make a minimum commitment of four months of tutoring.
No prior experience is necessary. All volunteers who want to make a positive impact on the life of a child in need are welcome.
