If you’re a high schooler in Georgia who doesn’t mind a plane ride and experiencing other cultures, then the Rotarians have something to tell you.
The Rotary clubs that cover metro Atlanta and west Georgia are offering eight overseas exchange program scholarships. The estimated value is $24,000 each, the group said in a news release earlier this month.
The scholarship covers tuition, room, board and monthly stipend to study at a high school abroad in one of 33 countries for the 2019-2020 school year.
This is for students ages 15 to 18½ at the time of departure.

Nationally, 9,000 high schoolers are a part of the Rotary Youth Exchange program every year, the group said.
Granger, a student from Marietta, spent nine months in France.
“Exchange is a unique environment that creates incredible people who are truly changing the world and making strides towards achieving world peace,” he said in a news release.
Interested students must attend an informational session in Atlanta with their parents and apply no later than Nov. 1 for departure in August 2019.
