A Hall County teenager has been charged with aggravated child molestation and burglary after allegedly breaking into a home and molesting a 5-year-old girl.
Hall County sheriff's spokesman Stephen Wilbanks said in a statement released Friday that the 15-year-old boy was intoxicated when he entered the home west of Gainesville through an unlocked window around 5 a.m. on July 30.
The teen was caught in the act of molesting the girl when the girl's mother went into her room to check on her, Wilbanks said. The mother alerted the girl's father, who confronted the teen and detained him until deputies arrived.
The boy was arrested and transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries, then was booked ito the Gainesville Regional Youth Detention Center. He remains in custody at the Youth Detention Center without bond.
