In a last step before the Fulton County School Board decides on its next superintendent, Board Chairwoman Linda Schultz and two board members, Catherine Maddox and Julia Bernath plan to travel to Charlotte, N.C. on Monday to see candidate Robert Avossa in action.

Avossa, the chief strategy and accountability officer for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, is the top choice to replace Superintendent Cindy Loe who is retiring. School spokeswoman Susan Hale said that a special meeting will be held next week and a decision announced.
