The Roswell Police Department will hold a self-defense class for females 14 and older.
The program, S.A.F.E. (Self-Defense Awareness & Familiarization Exchange for Women), was created by the National Self-Defense Institute.
The two-hour seminar will be taught by officers who are S.A.F.E.-certified instructors. It is intended "to introduce women to a winner's mindset and basic physical skills that can be used to reduce their exposure to violence," according to Facebook.
The event will take place Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at East Roswell Park, 9000 Fouts Road.
People are requested to call ahead and pre-register in person at Roswell City Hall, 38 Hill St. Suite 100, or in class.
The cost is $6 and may only be paid through a check payable to city of Roswell. There are 25 slots available.
