Keep North Fulton Beautiful is asking residents to make appointments to drop off recyclables as it prepares to reopen its Sandy Springs recycling center on Wednesday, May 20.

"Our goal is to meet your needs while protecting our workers and volunteers, as well as protecting the community and our customers" from the COVID-19 virus, KNFB Executive Director Kathy Reed said on the organization's website. Recycling by appointment, she said, "will help manage the number of customers at a given time."

Workers and customers will have to wear face masks and keep at least six feet away from others. Initially, the center will not accept items that require payments, such as documents to be shredded, TVs and computer monitors, and fluorescent light bulbs.

Also, customers will need to sort their own materials. New bins and signage will make the task easier, Reed said.

The recycling center is at 470 Morgan Falls Road, Sandy Springs. Information: https://bit.ly/2LwYkfP
