Fruit plant sale to fund Cherokee County teaching garden

To raise money for an outdoor teaching garden and orchard at Cherokee Veterans Park, the UGA Cherokee County Extension and Master Gardeners announced they are selling grow-your-own fruit plants.

Featured plants include pear, Asian pear, blueberry, persimmon, blackberry, raspberry, plum, fig, muscadine and grape. Orders will be taken through Friday, March 13. Plants will be available for pickup from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, March 20, at American Legion Post 45 Fairgrounds, 297 McClure St., Canton.

Cherokee Veterans Park is a 149-acre property with a Veterans Monument at 7345 Cumming Highway, Canton. It is one of the largest facilities in the Cherokee County Recreation & Parks system.
