The opening crawl might blend in with the night sky, but when John Williams’ score starts, you’ll know you’re at the movies.

On Saturday at Riverside Park in Roswell, the city’s recreation and parks department will host a free showing of “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.”

No registration is required to attend, just bring a blanket or a chair and enjoy a Saturday night at the park. You can bring your own snacks, or purchase food and drinks from concession stands there.

A flyer for the event says that movies will start “at dark,” but a city spokesperson estimates that to be between 8:45 and 9 p.m.

The Last Jedi was released in 2017, has a 91 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes and was directed by Rian Johnson. It is the latest installment of the Skywalker saga and stars Daisy Ridely, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Mark Hamill and the late Carrie Fisher.

Roswell will host another free movie night at the park on Aug. 11, screening “The Greatest Showman” starring Hugh Jackman.

The event is sponsored by B98.5 FM.
