A family dog who became lost Monday night after apparently running from the scene of a fatal vehicle crash in Cobb County has been found.

Max, a medium-sized 2-year-old dog, was found in an industrial park near the wreck scene in Mableton. The dog has been reunited with family members, Channel 2 Action News has reported.

The crash, which was caused by a driver who ran a red light, killed Pamela L. Sitton, 51, of Douglasville, and injured her mother and 14-year-old son, police said.

Sitton’s father, Robert Pugh, drove to Mableton from North Carolina after he heard about the crash, according to Channel 2. Pugh came to the crash site to find Max.

Investigators said the fatal crash involved a black 2005 Dodge Magnum that was approaching the intersection of Mableton Parkway and Lee Industrial Boulevard on Mableton Parkway. The driver entered the intersection on a red light and collided with the left side of Sitton’s vehicle, a Toyota Sequoia, which had gone into the intersection on a green light, police said.
